Emmie A. Cooper

Artist • Graphic Designer • Art Educator • Curriculum Creator

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, that interest has grown into a career
that brings together graphic design, studio art, and teaching. I enjoy exploring different mediums, finding ways to communicate ideas visually, and helping students discover what they can create when they have the chance to learn
new skills.

I hold an Associate's Degree in Graphic Design from Onondaga Community College, where I graduated summa cum laude. With more than seven years of professional design experience, I've worked across a variety of projects and formats, building a foundation in visual communication that continues to influence my work as an artist and educator.

My Background

My graphic design education and professional experience have given me opportunities to work with branding, print materials, publications, digital graphics, and other forms of visual communication. I enjoy the process of taking an idea and developing it into a clear, thoughtful design.

My Work as an Artist

My artistic interests extend beyond graphic design to drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and other creative mediums. As a teenager, I had artwork published in Brio magazine, and in 2021, I exhibited work in SUNY OCC's Art & Photography Sophomore Show.

Art in the Classroom

Teaching has given my love of art another direction. Working with young artists has shown me the value of building skills, exploring materials, and giving students opportunities to make their own creative decisions.

That perspective carries into my work with Hope Creek Studios. I enjoy helping create resources that bring art and learning together, giving teachers engaging ways to introduce techniques, explore artists, and help students develop their own artistic skills.

Working alongside my mom, Tonya, brings together our different experiences and strengths. Together, we create resources designed to make art learning meaningful, approachable, and rewarding.

A Selection of My Design Work

My design portfolio includes projects in branding, print, publication, and large-format design. Each project offers a different opportunity to explore how visual choices can communicate an idea and connect with an audience.
